I’m a Data Scientist focused on AI safety, trust, and evaluation at Meta Superintelligence Labs. I am developing frameworks to measure and mitigate risks in large-scale AI systems. I work across research and engineering teams to ensure responsible AI deployment.
Before focusing on AI safety, I was a Research Scientist focusing on the economics of digital platforms. I led research that informed policy and product strategies on a wide range of topics including digital welfare, health misinformation, financial inclusion, and ad market competition.
Beyond Meta, I co-founded Beaj Education, a social enterprise using technology to improve learning outcomes for underserved youth in Pakistan. I hold a PhD in Public Policy (Economics) from Harvard University and a BA in Political Economy and Philosophy from Williams College.
My research has been published in leading academic journals, including the American Economic Review: Insights and American Political Science Review, and featured in outlets such as the Washington Post and Dawn Pakistan. I also occasionally host Unpacking Us, a podcast that explores the intersection of technology, economics, and development in the Global South.
